چکیده
XTE J1748−288 is a new X-ray transient with a one-sided radio jet. It was observed with ASCA on 1998/09/06 and 1998/09/26, 100 days after the onset of the radio-X-ray outburst. The spectra were fitted with an attenuated power-law model, and the 2–6-keV flux was 4.6

A highly polarised radio jet during the 1998 outburst of the black hole transient XTE J 1748 − 288
XTE J1748-288 is a black hole X-ray transient which went into outburst in 1998 June. The X-ray lightcurves showed canonical morphologies, with minor variations on the “Fast Rise Exponential Decay” profile. The radio source, however, reached an unusually high flux density of over 600 mJy. This high radio flux was accompanied by an exceptional (> 20%) fractional linear polarisation, the variabili...
متن کاملThe Zoo of X–ray sources in the Galactic Center Region: Observations with BeppoSAX
We report the results of a survey of the Galactic Center region (| l |< 2◦, | b |< 0.5◦) performed with the BeppoSAX satellite. The flux from the center of our Galaxy corresponds to a luminosity of ∼3 10 erg s−1 in the 2–10 keV range. Due to the limited angular resolution ( > ∼ 1′) only part of it is supposed to come from Sagittarius A*, the non–thermal radio source which is believed to mark th...

We present the results of observations of XTE J0421+560 X-ray transient with Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer in the beginning of April 1998. Lightcurve, obtained by ASM all-sky monitor, shows unusually fast decrease in the object's luminosity. Spectra from series of observations by PCA and HEXTE experiments were studied in detail. Two emission line regions with energies around 6.5 keV and around 8 ...
متن کاملA BeppoSAX view of transient black hole candidates in quiescence
We report on BeppoSAX observations of five transient black hole candidates during their quiescent phase. We confirm these sources are X–ray faint, improving on and complementing existing upper limits. We derive 1–10 keV upper limits for GRO J0422+32, GRS 1009–45, 4U 1630–47 and XTE J1748–288, which range from 2× 10 erg s to 5× 10 erg s. We positively detect GS 2023+338. Its X–ray spectrum can b...
متن کاملObservation of X-ray transient XTE J1748−288 by the Indian X-ray astronomy experiment
The observations of a newly discovered X-ray transient source XTE J1748−288 were made in the energy band 2 − 18 keV with the Indian X-ray Astronomy Experiment(IXAE) on the IRS−P3 satellite during 1998, June 14−25. The source count rate declined gradually with an exponential decay time of 19 ± 1.6 days. The X-ray light curves showed no significant intensity variations on short time scales (≤ 10s...
